Why Choose California Wine?

March 24, 2020

The great state of California makes more wine than all of the other U.S. States combined.  The state’s wine production is huge even on a world scale, producing 7-10 percent of the entire world’s wine and more than every country other than Italy, France and Spain.  This is all for good reason.  It is also no secret that California wine is some of the best-tasting wine in the world.  It is usually very fruit-forward, flavorful and since the 1970’s, has pioneered many winemaking innovations that have vastly improved the quality of the wine industry.  Flaws that once existed in wines all over the world are now very rare, as California discovered how to prevent these imperfections.

The California wine community has also widely adopted green winemaking practices to the world and has published its performance by making this environmentally friendly product benefiting families, communities, wildlife, soils and air that make this region’s wine so iconic.  Unlike places like France and Germany, you will rarely encounter a bad vintage given that California almost always gets enough sunshine to ripen the grapes.  California has a similar Mediterranean climate to these places, but even in the coldest months, it stays a bit more temperature, given its proximity.

The rich soils of this area offer diversity, not just of the styles of wine, but of the amazing grape variety planted in the Golden State including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel and many others.   California is also famous for its sweet wines, which are created from Botrytis, lending themselves to have rich, complex, honeyed character and at times, high residual sugar.  Wine lovers have numerous choices in the style of wine and unlike Europe, enjoys good weather conditions, sunshine and enough rain to ripen the grapes.

At Percipio Wine, we provide our consumers wines with an array of varietals.  From rich, fruit forward, and sweet wine, they can also purchase less ripe, drier, more traditional styled wines.  The shortcomings of California wine come from high prices for most quality wines.  That’s why Percipio has decided to change the game by bringing you affordable, high-quality and delicious wines.
