The Stellar 8 is one of our tried and true favorites.  A perfect balance of spices, earth tones and flavor, this wine goes great in a variety of meals and a number of settings.

Who would enjoy this wine?

Sensitive and Tolerant Vinotypes will enjoy this full-bodied wine with flavors of spices.

AVA: California

Variety: 65% Petit Sirah,  35% Zinfandel

Tasting Notes:

This wine has the typical dark blue and violet hues.  The wine has an aroma of a mixture of blackberry bramble, earth tones, and rich spices of clove, sage, and thyme.  The flavors compliment the aromas with blueberry, blackberry entry flowing to a more rich texture and finishing with a spice-driven finish similar to a bouquet garnish.

Food pairing suggestions:

This wine pairs well with grilled beef or lamb served with a mushroom reduction sauce.  Grilled chicken would work well with Herbs de Provence and haricot vert sautéed with Bacon.

DESCRIPTION

About the grapes

These grapes come from vineyards on the east side of the northern part of the San Joaquin Valley of California.  The fruit benefits from the deep sandy loam soils that are comprised mainly of decomposed granite from the Sierra Nevada Mountains.  Warm sunny days and cool nights with breezes coming from the San Francisco Bay and the Delta waterways allow the fruit to mature and have a proper balance between fruit character and structure.
